Greenfleet turns 20!

This year, Greenfleet celebrates 20 years of climate action, ecosystem restoration and biodiversity protection.

We’re thrilled to launch our special 20th anniversary logo to mark this significant milestone:

Greenfleet's 20th birthday logo

We’ve kept the design of the logo quite simple and straight-forward to respect Greenfleet’s brand and identity. We’re a no-fuss, transparent organisation with high standards and professionalism, and I believe this logo represents exactly that,” explained Aline Riche, Greenfleet’s Brand & Digital Marketing Coordinator.

We’re really proud of this milestone and we’re excited to roll out our 20th birthday logo through all our communications. More than just a logo, it captures all the hard work of the Greenfleet team since 1997 as the first and most trusted source of biodiverse carbon offsets,” Aline added.

Since 1997, Greenfleet has been working with the community around Australia (and more recently in New Zealand, too) to connect people with real climate action. Over that time, we’ve restored ecosystems in over 425 forests to sequester more than 2.7 million tonnes of CO2-e on behalf of our supporters.

As Greenfleet turns 20 this year, we’re more than ever dedicated to connecting people with real climate action. We are focused on the future and continue to expand our impact; geographically but also with new technologies and approaches to ecosystem restoration,” said Greenfleet CEO, Wayne Wescott.

“2017 is set to be a huge as we prepare for a whole year of birthday celebration via events, stakeholders lunches and planting days and social media campaigns,” Wayne added.

It’s also going to be a big year on the ground, as many big projects start rolling out:

  • official launch of our work at the Upper Stony Creek Transformation Project, transforming a concrete drain into an urban oasis of native bushland in Melbourne’s west;
  • start of our Low Glow campaign to protect endangered turtles in Queensland in partnership with our partners Prince’s Charities Australia and Disney;
  • we’re building on our innovation with the Victorian Government to access carbon rights on Crown land by developing a pipeline of projects on public land;
  • we’re working with the Gold Standard Foundation to accredit our forests and meet with their global Board in Melbourne;
  • we’re demonstrating leadership in blue carbon (carbon sequestration from mangroves, seagrasses and saltmarsh) by continuing our research and with the aim of launching the first commercial site in Australia;
  • and of course, we continue to deeply engage with our supporters and look forward to announcing big joint projects this year.

We look forward to celebrating 20 years of carbon offsetting, of climate protection and habitat restoration with every single one of you!
