The Great Barrier Reef needs our attention

This isn't a question any of us want to hear.

And this is why Greenfleet has teamed up with Disney on a new campaign, Remember the Reef.

Using Finding Dory as a launching pad, Disney and Ellen DeGeneres are urging the public to help protect the Great Barrier Reef.

We're excited that so many people understand the urge to take action to protect this unique habitat – and the media attention has reflected people’s concern. This campaign is a great opportunity to take positive and practical action to improve ecosystem health throughout the Great Barrier Reef region.

Already, more than $3,000 has been raised, which will fund tree planting in the upper catchments of the Great Barrier Reef and help us to restore mangroves along coastal wetlands in Queensland.

We know that wetlands store carbon at higher rates than forests on land, and also filter sediment and toxins flowing from the Queensland hills into the Great Barrier Reef. We hope that the healthier ecosystem will help flora and fauna to thrive over the coming years.

Other partners of ‘Remember the Reef’ include the Great Barrier Reef Foundation and the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority which provided educators and consumers with Finding Dory-themed educational materials and activity guides to help raise awareness of the reef’s decline and inspire people to take practical action.

You too can make a difference! Join us in protecting this unique place in the world by making a donation and visit Remember the Reef to find how else you can get involved.
